Michael James is an Irish actor from Belfast, with bases in Manchester and London. Michael’s career thus far has explored fascinating roles through dramatic, romantic, and comedic characters, spanning across short films, music videos, voice acting, theatre, and commercials, with ambitions of pursuing more complex creative endeavours within a cinematic and theatrical landscape.
Training
Upon getting his place accepted in the Young Everyman Play Actors Programme 2026, Michael has attended acting classes that specialise in Meisner and Stanislavski techniques, movement, creative exercises, vocal range and scene partnership. He will be performing at the Liverpool Everyman Theatre in July as DCI Steve Renford.
Film
Michael is an award winning filmmaker; in 2024, he produced, wrote, and starred in short film, ‘ROUNDABOUT’, which featured at film festivals internationally, including BAFTA qualifying festivals such as the Belfast Film Festival and Focus Wales Film Festival, where he won Best International Drama.
